If one thing sets football apart from other sports it is the almost balletic artistry that competing athletes display.

This period under Glasner has seen the most incredible run of beautiful football and beautiful goals in my memory and almost certainly in the history of the club.

Four of the five on Saturday were crackers. But over and over we keep scoring stunning strikes.

A wonderful time to be alive.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Your first paragraph: I'd make an exception in respect of Mark Dennis. The rest: oh yes! Enjoy it while it lasts (or lasted)...

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

I can't recall a time in 50 plus years of us scoring so many well constructed goals involving 6 or more passes.

The passing and movement has been exceptional and is almost impossible to defend against.

The last time I felt such a sense of anticipation goimg to games was the Zaha, Bolassie, Murray promotion team.
However, that was often based on rapid counterattacks and clinical finishing rather than pass and move.
Prior to that it would have been the Bright and Wright team, but that was based on a pace and power and a stream of crosses.

This style is truly a new experience as a Palace fan.

The second goal was sublime and so quick and out of the blue and JP took it very well.

The movement and one touches around the box is excellent and fast and penetrating defences.

If that had been Man City / Arsenal / Liverpool doing that everybody would be swooning and MOTD would be on about it all the time.

Long may this continue.

For me our goal at Anfield was poetry in motion.
21 unopposed passes against a top team and Eze's simple finish which began Liverpool's decline. NO wonder Klopp was seen mouthing 'wow'!

Bless Roy Hodgson but it would never have happened with him.

All of a sudden we look like a technically decent team and, potentially, one of the best in 2024/25. Roll on August.

Hope I'm not tempting providence but after 76 years of support I am getting seriously confident.

I’m beginning to wonder if we keep that squad together, do we need to strengthen during this summer window. If we lose Guehi only would that hurt us. We now have a front 3 with Franca to return, Edouard and Ayew. Even Schlupp who’s signed on for another year can play further forward? We have our two in midfield plus Dacoure and Hughes. Perhaps Ozil as well (might go out on loan?) Munoz and Mitchell fill in right and left and then we have a back 3 for which Clyne has been outstanding filling in. We also have Ward and Holding. Not only that, with Wharton in midfield with Hughes and a returning Dacoure, Lerma could be a permanent alongside Andersen and Richard’s? Then we have others from our under 21’s coming through plus Rak Saki. And we have a couple of decent England keepers plus Matthews and Whitworth (another possible loan out). Of course, if we do sell some of our best players then we will need to replace them. Let’s hope that front 3 stay? What a great position we are in at this time and for perhaps the first time in many years (if ever) we look to have a shout next season of some honours in the best league in the world? I’ve never been so positive :-)

Some observers suggested that Klopp's "Wow" was an expression of amazement that his players put so little pressure on us, with the great Virgil van Dijk leaving Eze so wide open for the finish. Thus, his thinking was "Wow, I can't believe our lads allowed that to happen."

Having done a bit of coaching myself, I can easily see both interpretations. It was indeed a lovely sequence of six one-touch passes, yet the finish was made possible by woefully negligent marking – of a player who surely had been a focus of Klopp's training sessions throughout the week.

To be fair we did score a similarly superb, if not better, steam goal at Anfield under Roy.

He probably had them in for extra training for having more than 2 players in Liverpools half.
