They have a fantastic living museum there well worth it. I could put a list as long as your arm on here I love visiting this stuff. It's one of the best things about this country turn a corner and you will bump into history.

I took my daughters to The Tower probably 12/13 years ago and you had to pay admission. What I DO know is that the last execution at The Tower was a German spy in 1941 and the last prisoner to be held there (albeit briefly) was Rudolph Hess.

I had a freebie it was a good trip but I remember thinking it wasn't worth the cost. In general I think it's a bit cheeky that buildings we own and fund through our taxes we then have to pay an entrance fee for.

I don't know the current charge - but it's high and I wasn't going to pay it.

My one big trip this year is going to be Ironbridge, with , or without Carol Decker.

Jackfield, Ironbridge was at the hub of Victorian tile-making. If you like 'interesting stuff', I recommend a visit to the Jackfield Tile Museum.
