Always loved that pic kerm, if ever a pic can show how packed it was, it's that one, a sea of heads!! I was in the Arthur Waite enclosure and the holmesdale was quite a sight that night!!

I took my girlfriend at the time to this as her first Palace match. She must have liked it, as we are married now!

I was up the top on the left somewhere. I remember doing some damage to a table in the Jolly Sailor that night as I fell on top of it while tired and emotional.

I'm in there somewhere. I have another picture from the Adder somewhere showing the Holmesdale End and 2 coppers down the front. I'm sure I've read somewhere that there were around 22,000 just in that end.

Also around that time (probably a bit earlier) I was in The Holmesdale for the Wimbledon v Leeds cup game. That was very similar.

I was in the Arthur Waite stand with my sister. Got the bus to Thornton Heath which was barely moving so we got off early and walked to the ground. Memory fades me but I cant remember queuing for long so maybe I got there mega early...I remember if one person moved the people round them also moved as it was so cramped.

Sometimes it feels as if it was only yesterday.

It still ranks as my favourite Palace game of all time.
