I've never been a great fan of his but now I am really disappointed that he has come out defending Vardy and possibly using his influence in the FA to get Varney off of a further ban. For the manager of England to question a ref's decisions is very wrong and in this case he has made himself look stupid since he must be the only person who thinks that Vardy did not dive !!

According to the whole of Leicestershire, Vardy never dives, Huth never uses his elbows and Morgan never pulls anybody's shirt. The local media over reaction to last Sundays match has been sickening. Hodgson should not be condoning diving or cheating.

My interpretation is that Hodgson wasn't condoning diving or cheating he was just expressing a personal view that in his opinion Vardy was not guilty of so called "Simulation". He realises that he is "Out on a limb" regarding the incident in question.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |

If that's true then his view is wrong and this then questions his competence! Good luck to Leicester in their efforts but let's at least be honest and admit that Vardy has been getting away with the same thing all season - petty fouls in midfield to disrupt the opponents and diving in the pen area ! John Moss should have been commended for being the first one to stop it.

Hodgson should not comment on domestic issues fullstop.

Can't stand Leicester and really hope Spurs overhaul them. Woy should keep his substantial beak out.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

The dive was so blatant that the only thing "unstable" is Hodgson's grasp on reality. The only upside of England's inevitable elimination in the second round of the Euros is being able to say goodbye to a third rate manager. I think we'd actually be better off getting Big Sam in, selecting Andy Carroll and just playing hoofball. Edited by CambridgeEagle (22 Apr 2016 12.50pm)

I had the misfortune to see some of Victoria Derbyshire's show on BBC news yesterday morning where they had 3 Leicester fans in the studio - in kit, scarves the lot - two of which were old ladies and the other an effeminate young man. They were moaning about Vardy getting the second yellow, when it was the only good decision made, and then went on to say that no one wants them to win it and everyone is apparently against them.
Optimistic as ever |
