Yes wages and transfer fees mostly. The agents tend to make commission on all of these transactions so it gets a little more inflated. Our wage bill for 16/17 was approximately 80 million. I think it'll be closer to the 90 mark for this season. That's clearly the lion's share of the TV money gone. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are wrong: wages in the 2015-2016 season were already 82m. being 79 percent of a turnover of just over 100m. Guess this clearly answers the ops question though. It is mainly wages indeed. Originally posted by FairweatherEagle

Sorry, I tried adding a link to the CPFC 2010 accounts for 15/16 (the latest ones published, as discussed in another thread) but I failed miserably. Search for ‘Companies House Beta Service’ Then search for ‘CPFC 2010’ Then ‘Filing History’ and scroll down to the 2016 accounts. Edited by YT (12 Jun 2018 10.27am)

The highest expenditure in any business must be wages and add on bonuses etc.

Not often I reply these days, more of a reader but your post did make me chuckle and I am sure in many ways and places you may be correct but I certainly doubt that thats the case in the football industry. Mercenary players and agents gettting every penny they can and making Hay whilst the sun shines.
