Apparently Everton boss, Roberto Martinez sees this forthcoming game as an opportunity to take out their frustration from a couple of poor results on the punch bag that is Palace. According to Martinez, the midweek match offers the perfect chance to make amends for losing at Liverpool and Tottenham and gaining revenge against the football gods who have been unkind to Everton. I have every respect for the Spaniard who seems a decent man with an innate sense of how to play football but the idea that we will be willing whipping boys is wide of the mark and may just gee up the underdogs.

Sometimes I get the impression some see the game as a lot simpler than me. To compare any team to a punch bag is as simple. Except, when do punchbags hit back? Get it straight Mr Smarty Martinez, Palace are really as good as your lot and will not allow themselves to be hit ad naseum just because you're frustrated. After the unkind results against Man City (only 1-0) and Chelsea, I think I feel frustrated too and expect Palace to use Everton like an overweight, flat-footed, ex-heavy weight! Bring it on!

The bigger they are the harder and further they fall!. That goes for big mouth managers as well as teams and players.
