Was one of the few decent politicians. The main stream leader to stand up against the Iraq War and proved right.
o kept out of the last government and believed going into coalition would damage his party - how right he was and could have resulted in damaging him more than others. Yes it's sad how things pan out sometimes. Poor bloke.

Poor guy. I suspect his much publiscised battle with alcohol (which almost always leads to depressive issues), escalated upon his General Election ousting. It's quite plausible that he drank himself to death.
