There was some coverage on British news last night. U.K media made it into a fairly long item. It was a deserved tribute from all I've heard about him. Maybe non-British media were less aware of him. Although saving 600+ children must have its own rewards, I'm glad our T.V news marked his passing.

RIP NW. Particularly creditable how he didn't blow his own trumpet about it and it didn't even really come out widely until nearly 50 years later. Let's hope our current government set an example by making it easier for kids in a nightmare war zone to be able to get out of it and get a decent chance in life. This is particularly pertinent to the current situation where refugees are seen by some (UKIP for example)as a problem rather than a responsibility. So many of those Jewish children contributed so much to British life since the war. And in more recent times, Victor and Wilf and Yala have all come from troubled countries and contributed to life in south London in a very positive manner.
