This was one of the best horse races I can remember... Eddery was on Grundy and Joe Mercer on Bustino. Pat Eddery got Grundy home to win that day. I made loads of money betting on his mounts over the years and he was a good trainer too. RIP Pat!

Met him at a John Dunlop open day in Arundel. Appeared to be a decent bloke. Didn't really think he made the grade as a trainer but then not many jockeys make the transition. A bit like decent football players to managers.
