Hard to find anyone in RSA today who disagrees with the Appeal Ct ruling. General consensus is that justice has now been done, at least in this case, however there are scores of other cases where a flawed criminal justice system consistently fails to serve the needs of the ordinary man/woman in the street. "Deviance is a freedom enjoyed in a city of lightly engaged strangers"

Hard to find anyone in RSA today who disagrees with the Appeal Ct ruling. General consensus is that justice has now been done, at least in this case, however there are scores of other cases where a flawed criminal justice system consistently fails to serve the needs of the ordinary man/woman in the street.

it was mooted earlier in the trial that as long as Pistorius thought someone/anyone was in the toilet, then it has to be murder. This seems a fundamental error by the trial judge, who up until giving the verdict, was exemplary in handling the trial. Now she's retired on a big fat pension, her reputation seemingly untarnished (said the appeal judges). The verdict she reached was gross incompetence/negligence and now makes me wonder whether any brown envelopes were involved. She deserves to be retrospectively sacked and have her pension greatly reduced. However, am very pleased with the final verdict. I hope the bladerunner gets bvmmed to death in the shower block, or more likely is found drowned with 5 gallons of semen in his stomach I disengage, I turn the page.

..but, he's autistic for me, in his earlier case it seemed pretty obvious he had the ability to be somewhat ..detached.

It was a position of damned if you do and damned if you don't. Black, female judge in South Africa finds a white male guilty of murder. Add in the press coverage etc and it wouldn't be a huge leap for the defence to argue the prejudice that existed in OP getting a fair trial. Find him guilty of a lesser charge and let your colleagues reverse the decision in cold light of day after the initial circus has died down.

I'd take the reverse view and would suggest the judge knew exactly what she was doing. It was a position of damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Black, female judge in South Africa finds a white male guilty of murder. Add in the press coverage etc and it wouldn't be a huge leap for the defence to argue the prejudice that existed in OP getting a fair trial.

Find him guilty of a lesser charge and let your colleagues reverse the decision in cold light of day after the initial circus has died down.
