Well, public transport in most continental European cities is a real bargain during normal operation compared to the UK, especially London. I really can't believe how people put up with the exhorbitant costs of public transport (in all forms) in the UK. We left years ago because of the constant increases in cost of public transport, council tax and indirect taxation, it was never ending.

It was free a few weeks ago too, any foreign looking immigrant was put on a coach and sent to a remote village to peel onions for the rest of their lives.
