Another old chant/song from the late 60s has just come to mind: E's 'ere, e's there, I think I read somewhere that he was quite a religious person, so I'm not sure how well that went down with him. On the internet there's a wonderful picture of Roger proudly showing off his little Hillman car with personalised number plate. Happy innocent days.

But that's just an age thing I suppose!!

Being able to put a bet on at the back of the old holmesdale where they had a bookies hut. They had a tuck shop too where you could by sweets and crisps and a hot bovril.

I saw Palace player Ian Philip (Scot like many of them in the late 60's) on the 68 bus on the way to play in a match. I always went stupidly early, but it shows footballers then didn't have the extended time together before matches.
