I used to work in a call centre and actually fell asleep whilst awaiting a call. I remember waking up and a woman laughing at the other end of the phone asking if I was asleep. Just imagine if you called say your bank and when the phone was answered you heard snoring!. Probably preferable to the normal message - after pressing various numbers - 'we are experiencing a particular high level of calls' etc etc. At least it's a human on the line !

I love how people call these situations black and white! The guy obviously didn't want to fall asleep. Shift work is diffficult especially the pattern on the transport services. That's the bad thing about having privatised transport services, it's all about profits. It's made worse by TFL who fine every delayed service, constantly tendering the routes to the cheapest bidder. Puts a huge pressure on the drivers. Comparing it to a desk job is a bit of a joke!

Agree with you. Don't hear regular reports of a certain number bus route having drivers fall asleep at the wheel.something is wrong here. You'd be surprised, I've heard of a few instances where bus drivers have fallen asleep. Not everything will be reported. The tram cabins are more visible from behind.

Has there been a verdict on sandiland? Last thing I read was that the driver had been half way through a text which is completely different to falling asleep or blacking out.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

Why defend the driver? 8'0clock in ther morning so had only been at work a couple of hours. If your tired before you start your shift to the point that you could fall asleep then to call in sick would be the thing to do especially after recent tragic events.

people crash cars everyday cuz they don`t sleep at night........but you can suffer from an illness where you fall asleep and he might be diabetic as well another cause for dropping off.
