Allardyce signed him for Sunderland for £1 Mill from Bayern Munich.Played mainly as defensive midfielder for Sunderland but can play in defence. Didn't start off too well at Sunderland but got much better.Only played 9 games last season for Sunderland and none after December, I think due to injury.

May up for a flexible mainly "pay as you play" contract. We have a thin squad and need squad players though one could argue we do not want injury prone players indeed. Originally posted by dg1937
