Funds removed from card - is it allowed ?

I am a member of a golf club and I add funds to my golf club card to make purchases over the bar ( and also get a discount ). It appears that the balance on the card with be reset to zero on 1 Jan. thereby losing any credit on the card. This is the first time I have heard of it and wonder if it is legal. Has anybody else come across this at all before ?

It's probably in the terms and conditions that you signed up to but all the same it's a bit naughty. I'm glad that my bank doesn't take my bank balance on 31st December which is effectively the same thing

I don't belong to a golf club but I have a friend who does, and I know he spends December using up his credit, since anything remaining is wiped out at the year-end. With respect, it's hard to believe that the same system operates at your place without members being made aware of it.

Nobody has mentioned it in our post-golf socialising.
