After the Chelsea, Arsenal game and the comments made about time added on, do we think that it is time to have an official timekeeper for games like they do for American football? Since VAR is clearly the way forward, do we think that we need to bring timekeeping into the 21st century as well?

Maybe therin lies the discrepancy.... it is 'added' time and includes injuries, substiutions, time-wasting and any other reason for stoppage of play (streakers, pitch invaders, stray dogs etc.)at the referees discretion, so probably even an official timekeeper's decision would still be as incomprehensible at times as he would also have to give consideration to the above things.

Perhaps, but a dedicated timekeeper would have nothing else to worry about. The ref has the game to deal with.

With the comms the refs have these days I'd be all for an official timekeeper. I'd also be in favour of a 'no substitution in the last five minutes unless for injuries' rule as well. Stop people just running down the clock - Anyone else noticed that any city sub in the last few minutes is always the outfield player furthest away from the bench and can only manage baby steps when called off?
