It always seems to be that the best goal scored each month in 'goal of the month' is someone else v CPFC!!!

Perception? Or is it just an indicator of how quality our defence and goalkeepers are? They can only be beaten by magical goals.........(I’ll now remove my tongue from my cheek....ahem).

Maybe just bad fortune, but it is no secret that we are weak in goal compared to other PL teams. That being the case, is it possible, that coaches are instructing their players to have long distance shots at us? Whereas, with other teams with stonger goalkeeping, these same players are being instructed NOT to waste chances on these shots and to work chances closer to goal? If so, then that would raise the odds of spectacular goals being scored against us, thus answering your question.

We do seem to have more than our fair share of wonder goals scored against us. Some of that has to be down to failing to close people down I would have thought but also a fair bit of jam (reference Giroud's so called wonder scorpion kick that 99% of the time would have been missed completely or been in the stands somewhere) and one-off's (reference Andros scoring that free kick for Newcastle against us and not being able to hit a barn door since).

Sure he said he had a quick look at the keeper first then decided to have a punt.
