Good question for you all, would you straight-swap him right now, for Andros Townsend? Couple of months ago, I would say easy decision, not so sure now. I personally would, but probably due to rose-tinted specs! Absolutely not. Townsend is a far superior player in my opinion. The Everton fans have it spot on...especially the guy that said dribbling round in circles then out for a goal kick.

YB had a serious knee injury his game is all about twisting turning fast bursts of speed so the worst type for him to get, he may never be the YB we had again but if he is then i would have him back in a heartbeat.

Mixed feelings about this one. At times he was incredible, but so inconsistent. I am not sure I would love him back, perhaps just be happy with the 28m we got for him and be content with the memories...

It's a no for me. Granted Andros hasn't exactly set the world on fire here but he is more consistent than Yannick and a more hard working player who helps in defensive positions as well as up top. Townsend 2017/18 2 goals 5 assists Bolassie 2017/18 0 goals 0 assists Those stats are not particularly useful. Bolasie was injured for almost all of 2016/17 after an electric start where he looked to have carried on his great form from the last season. This season he missed the first half and has been getting back in to the team. On his day, Bolasie is easily twice the player Andros is on his day. Andros is younger and is a very reliable player that doesn’t seem to get injured too often, but in terms of what he can do to get past people, Andros is limited. Andros also has a better shot than Bolasie and is more two footed. Personally with Wilf playing through the middle occasionally, our weakness of squad and our track record with injury I’d say that there is absolutely a place for both of them at the club. Can you imagine if we had the choice of all three? If it was at all plausible I’d buy him back.

He would be a hell of weapon to have on the sub bench wouldnt he? Even if he has lost it and Townsend is the better player, I bet putting him on in the 70th minute against a tired defence would still be fun to watch!!!

This is the crux of the matter. Serious knee ligament injuries undoubtedly affect the player moving forward. They will be physically slower and less mobile. Plus mentally it’s clearly not good.

I loved Yannick, but I wonder if we were lucky to see the best of him. He suits Allardyce's tactics, but if Sam goes his future at Everton will be largely reliant on who replaces him as I don't believe he would suit a manager who likes lots of possession (as he would keep giving it away!)

I have never held Bolasie in the same esteem as many on here and elsewhere. He has pace and can get his team up the field with his ball-carrying but I have always viewed him as erratic and inconsistent - you are never sure what you are going to get from him.Opinions, opinions !
