I just read that the scheme to rebuild Selhurst Park is to go ahead in 2020. I just had a 2020 vision. The team are running out on a muddy pitch, on a slope, while a howling gale blows left to right, knocking over the corner flags and exposing gaps in the goal post netting. Can someone please reassure me that Palace hom e games won't be played on Purely Way while Selhurst is being redeveloped. I used to play on Purely Way on Sundays, and it's not conducive to the kind of purist football Roy Hodgson likes to play. (Might be OK for Alan Pardew though) Where are Palace likely to play?

If done stand by stand as per previously said, we’ll be at Selhurst.

Ah, thanks. They didn't say that in the piece I saw. Will the stands have one of those giant curly metal structures, which don't seem to have any practical value. Every new stadium seems to have one now. I think those are the architect's profit margin.

The new sructure will be built over the old stand as the architects did with the Liverpool stand. There will be no disruption to existing seating in the current old stand. The entrances will need to be reconfigured so that there are covered tunnels for spectator access. I sit in the Arthur Waite and look forward to watching the construction from there! On an unrelated note... another good point at Watford today given their physicality! Although we clearly should have been awarded a penalty and Wilf should not have been booked - it was good to come away with another point and importantly no injuries or red cards. Almost there guys!

Don't know what you've read but we are only replacing one stand, not rebuilding the stadium. It's been built as Liverpool's extension was, around and on top of the existing stand which they'll pull out during the off season of which it is all completed.

As an occupant of the Main Stand I would like to know if all of us in that stand will be supplied with hard hats whilst construction is going on?

It's bad enough when everyone has to stand up as a late comer makes thier way to their seat, or when an 'early bird' wants to get in the queue for the bar at half time. Now we're going to have to keep standing up while men carry massive RSJs along the row. What if the drop the girder, they will take out the whole row in front of you. I suppose on the positive side, that'll stop them standing up at crucial moments and blocking your view.
