I think he's England's best centre half - reckon he'll get a big move at club level over the next 1-2 years.

Southgate is picking players to fit a system and should be commended for being brave enough to do so. From time to time this means there may well be 'better' players left behind. We underachieved for a decade because managers couldn't drop the names. Agree there is mistake in him though!

Its a good question and I'm split tbh. I can see why he is in the squad but his decision making (even he acknowledged that in his interview) was a bit shaky at best. However, having said that, when it was going stale in the 2nd half it was his running with the ball and probing their flat back 6 that started to unlock things...and of course his assist for the winner. I do think for Belgium he'll be swapped for someone like Cahill, but for last night I think he was a good shout.

Thought he was England best CB, came forward with the ball when he could which opened up space for others. Also won everything in the air, both defensively and attacking despite being held by the Tunisians at every opportunity. He did make a couple of bad decisions but with this youthful looking England team it's going to happen.
