We are seeing what happens with Islam is in the majority within a country. It slowly pushes out secularism, even within a previously secular country. Erdogan is turning Turkey into a one man show.....How long before it's a dictatorship. Because there is no separation of 'mosque' and state within the main interpretations of that religion it is inherently political. Erdogan's partly is an openly Islamic one but read the BBC article which completely ignore this in its reporting. Yet, it's the base of his party and behind practically all his support. The fools on the left totally ignore what has happened all around the world because it happened slowly and not in their life time. Well, it's happening in your lifetime now. Got back from Kyrenia last week, we were getting 6.2TL to the £ at one point. Paying 10TL for a beer, unbelieveably cheap. Love the place
