How bad must our refs be if we as a country have no representation at the world cup. Some of these so called officials are trying to be bigger than the match. The ref for the Iran v Portugal had a proper mare and he had 4 mates in a shed drinking vodka to help him. Week in we moan about our refs but they surely are better than some of them in Russia.

I see that the VAR officials where kit in their shed. Do you think they go full John Terry and wear studs too?
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

After just watching the Argentina/Nigeria game, along with a couple of the earlier ones, perhaps it's because they are not bent enough

Given all the cr*p they have to put up with from players now they do a decent job. I'd have sent off half of each team for being ass*s if I was a ref.

How did he let a player with blood pouring from a cut on the eye carry on for best part of the 2nd half? Thought they always HAD to be sent off to get it covered, especially in a WC.

According to Talk sport a while back (yes I know not the most reliable) the FA unlike other countries only offered up one official to represent us and once he disappeared off to the Arab state they did not offer any replacements. So we ended up with no-one...and maybe after the VAR farce last season we would have not done anyway! Typical of the FA if you ask me...arrogrant and dis-organised.
