If I was splashing 10's of Million's of pounds on a player(s) I would not want to be signing anyone needing or in the process of having major surgery. Risk is to great and it only takes a player to lose a fraction of speed and they are not the same player. Yannick Bolasie for instance was doing the business for Palace in the premier league sold for 27 million knee surgery later and he is playing in Portuguese league. Pretty sure Mamadou Sakho and Conner Wickham are in a similar situation for Palace.

Considering our injuries this season it would be bonkers to go and sign someone who is already carrying a long-term injury, especially given we clearly have a tight budget. This kid might recover fully and be a shining star, but there are too many unknowns, especially when you also factor in he has never played in the PL.

Question for all. Do you buy a player who has never ben injured, or do you buy an injured player to nurse back to health?

It seems unfortunate that we have had two potentially excellent transfers fail due to medical/injury Issues, but I can totally understand that with our limited budget we cannot afford to waste money.
It is hugely encouraging, however that we are going for - and were this close to getting - these types of players.

He played in a league ranked higher than our feeder league: the Scottish 2nd division.

What's stranger about this deal is that it was called off because he got injured after the deal was agreed before January. Fiorentina have since signed him on loan so surely it wasn't as bad as palace must've first thought?

From what I have read, it was an operable injury that would apparently see him playing again before season end.

Not too late to get this guy. Fiorentina should sell at this time for under 10 million or around that. Make you a bet- see how he develops.
Not looking amazing this far this season of the Serie A. Just 1 goal and no assists.
Let's remember to come back here at the end of the season.
If I am right I get to be on the managing squad next year )))
If I am wrong I buy 10 beers for Spiderman.

I bought him for Palace on FIFA and he was immense! If computer games are accurate then he is really quick, which something we could do with. Of course they can't be that accurate as in FIFA I was able to buy players for Palace

Interesting to see him play last night against Spam. I thought he looked quite lively and intelligent. I wonder if this might be a deal the club revisit if Wilf goes? Experienced, quick and perhaps not too expensive.

I'm adding him to my Palace wish list. Looks a good striker who will keep on improving
