He talks sense about Benteke role, supply him decent crosses he said in the 1st half as I would have wanted crosses in my days, why tip and tap, get the ball in early to Benteke and thats what Luka has just done!

Plus Bright talks about how do a decent throw on. He and I share the same thoughts about the quality and how poor we are with them.
Plus he has good awareness of how our players could improve.. he should be a coach at Palace!!

Since FDB joined and Roy has been managing we’ve been playing the slow build up play that Klopp had going on when Benteke was at Liverpool and the pundits were all over it and why it was wrong to not get the ball to Benteke earlier and have him more involved, as Allardyce did.

The build up play builds up a longer term foundation for the team and club but playing to suit this type of striker returns more goals. It was the same in Wright and Bright’s day and still is. But we could certainly mix up our play and be less predictable. Even world class players and teams in World Cups do this now. Gone are the days of chess only football at that level yet we wait for our opposition to all get set before we attempt anything so we aren’t at risk at all.

Yawn yawn yawn but if we stay up then the way our thinking from above is then there’s not a lot more we can expect the more time moves on this way.
