...and give way to other spectator sports ?
I heard a rumour that rugby has massively stolen a march on Football in France. Then we have new sports like UFC Darts has followed improvements in television technology and was difficult to screen many decades ago. some interesting data below on the most popular Olympic Sports for viewers... Edited by PalazioVecchio (13 Nov 2019 1.36pm) I think you will find that rugby has always been a much more popular sport in France. However, one thing seemingly most people forget is that it is Rugby Football. Derivatives of the same game.

Rugby is not significantly more popular than football in France and never has been. But it's a lot closer than here, and there are pockets where it's the No. 1 game. They have huge admiration for the heroism of the game. It's probably fair to also say that they're less into spectator sport than us, but also love their cycling
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

It is fascinating how the sport survives at all ?

I think we've seen peak tv spend, especially for non-elite clubs. were that to reverse significantly, I think there could be a palpable sense of decay. good players leaving, more and more tv saturation for diminishing returns...a bad spiral I have been thinking that for a while now.
