I would agree though the 70's were not a lot better . Back in the day we would get off the 'special' and be herded into the ground through cattle pens 2 hours before kick off . The only 'refreshments' being weak tea and a cold pasties .
Horrible ground , but taught me 007 like skills like how to slip away from the crowd and find a pub . Something that I benefitted from in the years to come .
In fact I could write a book on where to get a quiet pint near English football grounds but then they wouldn't be quiet for long so Ill keep it to myself .
