If true and McCarthy isn't fit to start then Kouyate I guess will have to start in midfield and then it is a case of whether we go for the 69ers (Cahill and Dann's combined age) or whether Kelly is fit to start (I'm not overly convinced by Kelly plus he's been out for ages). I suppose Ward could also fill in as a defensive midfielder or as a centre-back, but I think that's unlikely.

Irrespective of what we think of Roy, we are having a genuine injury crisis, which will probably barely get a mention tonight while Liverpool will continue to get tears just because they have to keep changing their centre-backs.

If we do have another two injuries it will also be interesting to see if Roy turns to the U23s, as otherwise we are going to only have two strikers and a defender on the bench in terms of outfield players.
