He's f***ed isn't he? There are only so many long lay offs a bloke can come back from, and Tomkins has two a season at least. Such a shame. I think he's absolutely brilliant when fit, and we are so much poorer without him.

Reading between the lines it is unlikely he will play again this season as he is not even allowed to do fitness training whilst he waits for the eye to heal, so even after he is 100% he will then have weeks of training before he is back to playing fitness. Big loss as he is our best centre half by some distance.

We really miss him. Such a class act. Problem is his age. 32-33? We will all be lucky if we get another season out of him. Such a loss.

Roy has already said he is out for the season, but that it doesn't seem to be a career ending injury (which apparently was a fear). He's only 31 so if he can stay fit next season I think he still has a big role to play at the club.
