Edouard is fond of little flicks and lay-offs so you would expect the midfield players to get more chances running onto the ball.

I am a similar vintage , so 11/12 in 1969. I can remember the League tables from Shoot, although I haven't a clue about Goal. Scorcher was always my favourite anyhow.

Goal was more suited to older people I think. There was also Football Monthly and Football Pictorial. There was the Q & A in Shoot where every players favourite food was steak and chips, favourite country visited was America and they all wanted to meet Muhammad Ali.

That's the key. A combination of covid and various FFP cycles (maybe) seem to have created a landscape where a good few clubs have had to stand still, underinvesting in their sides or even going backwards, so hopefully some of the normal economic realities of the league will be less evident while we get this new side together.

Hopefully, the new-look team gels very quickly. Let's hope we get a season where we ain't fighting relegation for most of it.
