They only played for us in 2010, because we were short of players after administration. As a club now, we are light years ahead of where we were back then. We now have an academy through the age groups which is admired, cherry-picking the best talent from south london. Cadogan and Pinney would not get a look in now.

Shows how much I know. I thought they were a 'turn' from the 'Old Time Music Hall'.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

That's my level of football as a coach, and for those who aren't familiar, I can confirm that this is where the vast bulk of players who didn't quite make it at Palace (etc) seem to end up. Is this because of the lack of vacancies in the professional pyramid? Hmm, maybe, but perhaps it's because the top level is so very, very rarified that the whole youth team model anticipates (correctly) that almost all of its participants will never, ever make it.

I recall Cadogan coming on as a sub and scoring at Selhurst. Did Pinney get a game for the first team?

If memory serves me right Pinney scored against Norwich in a pre season game, and then played the first half of a league cup tie against Yeovil and came close to scoring before being subbed off at half time. Thought Pinney looked a good prospect at the time and he went on loan at Ebbsfleet in the conference and scored a fair few so was surprised after his release by us that he never made it back to conference level. Always rated Cadogan when he was with us, scored a couple. Came through similar time to Clyne, Scannell & Djilali. Seemed like we were playing half the youth team back then

Well Cadogan never made it off the bench and Pinney was a late sub...the question of who ate all the pies has been answered. Here's a fun fact from Willopedia: Wilf's first senior goal was assisted by Kieron Cadogan.
