Great stuff for Kouyate. Unfortunately he will be off in the summer, his passing in today's match was as atrocious as we see week in week out. Puts in a shift though that's not in doubt.

Was this the LiVARpool final? Congrats to Senegal & Cheikhou on their 1st Afcon title. Game was boring(as was the whole tournament).

Maybe I'm a born optimist but I can't help thinking this is good for Palace. You have to think that any player returning to the club from winning a major international trophy is going to have a spring in his step and an elevated sense of what's possible for him in football. Becoming a winner is no small thing and it tends to garner both the respect of those around you and an elevated sense of expectation. His experience at AFCON certainly won't hurt us as we get into the later stages of the FA Cup and if nothing else, his success on the world stage increases our exposure and credibility.
