I always wondered what the Bournemouth badge was all about..
Well the bloke heading the ball is Dickie Dowsett ..
Interested to discover today that he played for Palace from 1962 till 1965...
Still a strange badge though...

Came to us from Bournemouth . Here about the time I started attending but just don’t remember him or name. Squad player? Or latter day Connor Wickham.

When Dickie Dowsett joined us from Bournemouth in 1962 he doubled his wages to £30 a week.

Don’t think we had squads back then. Reserve team maybe.

The stats on this site say he scored 22 goals in 56 games whilst we were in 3rd Div and first year in 2nd.
