Mohamed Bamba

Ivory Coast 20 year old - scored a few for Wolfsburg before scoring 6 goals in 8 games for L'Orient last season. About £4mil - articles suggesting we're interested if Mateta goes are probably wide of the mark - more like an Edouard replacement, understudy to Mateta - we need reinforcements in the striker division, and an understudy is probably a better option than an expensive rival to JP, with Ayew as third choice in case of injuries.

Well, there’s an obvious song for him if he does sign (La Bamba by Ritchie Valens for the youngsters among you).

And he's got a ready made song to sing as well.

He'll cost more than £4m. He cost Lorient the equivalent of that (€5m) and we're an English PL club! Given his performances and goals at Lorient (there's no apostrophe BTW) I'd expect us to have to pay a similar amount as we've paid for Riad or even Sarr.

I'd hope he'd be a understudy for JPM but if Napoli offer enough for JPM...who knows?

If there is anything to it, it could be interesting. He was bought from the second Israeli league to Wolfsberg, a club in the Austrian Bundesliga for €200K one year ago. He scored regularly in the Austrian league. He was then sold after six months to Lorient for a record transfer price of €5m from Wolfsberg, obviously to generate money for the club. The fans in Wolfsberg were shocked and the coaches in Wolfsberg spoke of him as one of the best strikers in Austria with a great future. He also scored regularly in Ligue 1 at Lorient, who have now been relegated. Whether all this could be enough for the Premier League remains to be seen. If there really is interest, OG should know from people in Wolfsberg whether a possible purchase would be worthwhile.

Would he be our starter for '10'?

If it's not just click-bait and if considered ready for PL than probably more a possible backup for JPM. Played center-forward for Wolfsberg. I know a lot of ifs .......

Ship Edouard out, bring him in. How much worse than Edouard can he be?
