Scored 28 goals last year in a poor Blackburn side.
Unproven at premiership level but so was AJ Ian wright ext. I'd rather have a hungry young player with something to prove than some 10 goal a season has been who will f*** off if we go down. won't be cheap but wont depreciate in value. This is a no brainer for me.

Agree 100% - I think Rhodes should be our no 1 target.

I wouldn't want to spend £10m on someone who hadn't played at the highest level.

Recon we could et him for £8m. And as I said he wont drop in value. Worth the risk imo.

If we were to spend £8m and break our transfer Record, would you rather buy Rhodes (Unproven Premier league quality) or Kone (Proven Premier league quality).

I know who I would pick.

Rhodes is like darren bent does nothing else apart from shot or head at the goal no link up play but getting this player will keep us up just keep getting in crosses and he will do it , class finisher and if we did go down which we wont we would get our money back and same thing with tom ince we would get money back and get jake livermore on loan from spurs plus a few defenders we will be ok .

Don't think it would be anywhere near £10M for the transfer, and his wages certainly wouldn't be as problematic as others being suggested in this thread.

BLackburn paid 8 million for him and I doubt after scoring 30 goals they are going to sell him for a loss. Whilst every transfer is a gamble , rhodes would be worth every penny! He is a goal machine and will score goals at any level.
