If the Tories knew about the goings on at HSBC in 2011,as well as money laundering for Mexican drug cartels, is it right that they appointed Green as finance minister?

Realistically, if you had enough money would you not wish to avoid being taxed a large amount?

The real problem is not people exploiting Tax loopholes (thats what a good accountant is for) it's the fact that there are loopholes

Labour, Conservative, they're all on the make. The poor get shafted as per usual. Quote The Conservatives have raised over £5m from HSBC clients recorded with Swiss accounts, while Labour has also benefited from cash and gifts in kind worth over £500,000, as well as a loan for £2m

Turns out that HMRC were sent this information in 2008. Which puts it under the watch of the last mob.

Why did Labour welcome Stephen Green as a trade minister? Why were they still booking meetings with him in 2013? My responsibility is the tax laws of this country and no one has been tougher. Let me remind him about what we found: hedge funds cutting their taxes by flipping currencies. Allowed under Labour, banned under the Tories. Seems Labour are just as much at fault in this as anyone.

This thread highlights the utter idiocy of partisan political points scoring. The sooner more realise that politicians, mainstream parties and the whole political system are not there for any other reason than to maintain the status quo for the corporate, judicial and ruling elite who really run things the better
