I'm a young guy so should be up-to-date with all this sort of stuff, but over the past few weeks it seems these phrases (and more like them) are being used every other sentence! I have no idea when they started or how they started, and to be honest I'm not 100percent sure how and when to use them. Is it just me or are these being over used, just for the sake or using them? "Maybe, But Most Likely Not?"

The worst grammatical crime right now is those morons that begin every sentence with 'So'.

Thanks for that hoof. I thought I was the only one to get wound up by the 'so' merchants.

There's a running shoe company I always lean towards (Saucony) who use the slogan "Find Your Strong" and I have to yell "Find my strong what?". I think Oil of Olay or one of those girlie product adverts says "Be Your Best Beautiful". It's utter b*llocks. Anyway. I'm off to Be My Angry.

"Like" when used 6 times in any 12 word sentence (see TOWIE) "You know" when used 6 times in any 12 word sentence (see D Beckham or most footballers) "Would/could of" instead of would have/could have Saying "hashtag" in front of words - as if that's supposed to mean something useful to the listener "Sick" for good "Dope" for good "Phat/Fat"(not sure & don't care on spelling) for good - what's wrong with "good"?? I guess I'm not down with the kids - or whatever the correct term is for that now, and don't even get me started on text speak in normal, everyday conversation. “My experience of life is that it is not divided up into genres; it’s a horrifying, romantic, tragic, comical, science-fiction cowboy detective novel. You know, with a bit of pornography if you’re lucky." |

I've said it before, but "literally". Kids on the train use that so many times. My favourite was "I am so tired I'm literally dead".

I hate "Can I get" with a passion but the ones that really get me at the moment are, your instead of you'll eg " We're gonna win the league, your see" and are instead of our "Keep your hands off are Yannick" admittedly these are used mostly in the written form but still annoying. I don't mean to sound bitter, cold or cruel, but I am so that's how it comes out |

The agency 'Perfect Curve' off W1A and 2012 is a brilliant parody of this sort of thing.

THIS. And an upward inflection at the end of every sentence so it sounds like a question. C*NTS. They've even invaded Radio 4. End of civilisation as we know it.
