Presumably because he chose to give them keys when he decided to eat pizzas all the time, and couldn't even be bothered to waddle to the door..........

Depends, usually Maggie Thatcher, but one could argue that there is a point at which behavior, becomes irrational, and intervention is required. If he was staving himself to an early grave, he'd have been sectioned. Its hard to see how someone can actually be twice their age in weight, as an adult, without some kind of disorder being involved.

I assume this poor soul was in receipt of benefits, who have helped to fund this lifestyle. Should have been allocated a personal trainer,who together with appropriate dietary help, could still be with us today and leading a more fulfilling life.

Of course he ultimately is responsible, but I wouldn't rule out the very real possibility of it being an eating disorder or abnormality of biology involved. It would be erroneous to assume that someone so abnormal can be judged accurately by people who are not.
