I can't find the old thread but, when will they decide there's more than enough reason to now press some criminal charges? Both the driver and the council have lied and are incompetent, resulting in 6 deaths and a load more life changing injuries.

Like all enquires it seems to take an age for someoe to stand up and make a decision. My guess is the council are in for a pasting with the compensation payments, and rightly so to.

Has to be at least corporate manslaughter I'd have thought, as far as the council are concerned (unless it was a third party subcontractor). As for the driver, causing death by dangerous driving at the least

You can't do the job, go and get a new one rather than an early pension.

He shouldn't be doing that job and he shouldn't have put himself forward for that job. Simple as. It's the attitude of this day and age...... I am entitled to my rights I have no responsibility - everyone else is responsible for what happens when I exercise my rights.

He shouldn't be doing that job and he shouldn't have put himself forward for that job. Simple as. I don't think people tend to think that way, they manage to justify all kinds of things to themselves. The company should, if they knew, have reported him to the DVLA, the council should have checked his references and previous employer and he should have surrendered his licence with DVLA and followed the medical procedure for regaining it. The responsibilities of other parties is to act as the fail safe because you cannot trust people to do the right thing.
