Anyone remember the goal against Leeds? Oh Yes , Probably the funniest and most unlikely goal ever seen at Selhurst.

' Shovel ' did score a blistering free kick against Liverpool at home that same season....

Although nearly 50 years ago, I have more vivid memories of the team around him. McCormick, Blyth, Kember and Jacko particularly. Sewell, as I recall, was always the quiet man, but I guess that the late Bert Head gave him the captaincy for good reason. And that, dear friends, is why I didn't even make it as a programme seller, never mind manager!

Got an idea that his goal against Leeds became the opening sequence for the Big Match the following season. If I remember correctly ,the opening sequence for that programme the season he scored the goal was the 5 goal drubbing at Selhurst by Arsenal, which was painful enough on the day, let alone having to see it week in week out on tv.
