Why do England managers even ex Palace ones like Southgate not want to call up decent Palace Players??? Zaha never got a call up while playing for us but was by far the best English winger in the country and that is why he ended up deciding to go with Ivory Coast. Nathan Redmond has today been called up and he is no where near as good as Wilf. What's going on???

I do wonder if Wilf would have been called up now if he was still available.

I do think it's a disgrace we let players like zaha go and play for other nations, especially when we pick the same old players from the big clubs who are only there because they play for Man U. However I do think redmond deserves a call up and I wouldnt say that zaha is better than him to be honest. You watch him play for Southampton and he completely runs the show, like wild does most of the time, but redmond has many different strings to his bow and has for a long time. Zaha is still adding that to his game. Still, zaha is now much more consistent having regained his confidence after his time with the big boys and should of been given the chance. No doubt if and when he gets snatched by spurs all the papers will then be moaning about what a loss it was for England, in the meantime, at palace, no big issue Edited by Jaha (16 Mar 2017 3.12pm)

Perhaps if he'd been a bit more patient he might now have got picked. His loss.

Really disappointed Wilf opted for Ivory Coast especially what he has been given since moving here. He would have walked into that England squad today. This business of guys like Wilf going and playing for their roots team is all wrong and needs to be looked at. Of course it would have helped if Southgate had given him some hope. England have now lost a star player who as a country we have heavily invested in. Ridiculous. Really angry.

We had the chance to play him in freindlies over other players who we have seen before and know what thy are about. Don't blame zaha for going elsewhere, we should give these players we grow here in this country a go, especially when the number of English players playing first team football in "the best league in the world" is so low

I read somewhere that GS was going to speak to Zaha before he committed to the IC - don't know if it happened though.

Wilf's just too good for them. I really hope Wilf leaves that Lallana-loving; cheap-mans Gerrard; punchable t***face Boredon Henderson on his ass sobbing when we play them.

Jesus we get this whingeing every time a squad is announced. My thoughts exactly. There's no eligible Palace players that currently deserve an England place so I'm not sure who the OP expected to see included!

Southgate had opportunites to select him, but chose not to....If Wilf was still at Man U (and playing) he would have had 10 England caps by now but as he plays for little old Crystal Palace , no chance....Southgate maybe should have remembered where he came from when he kept ignoring Wilf
