Kelvin Mack is no angel that's for sure but I didn't know Ross Barclay was mixed race either. One black grandparent isn't that obvious and only now knowing that do you convince yourself there is a hint of black ancestry, but even then it's still so subtle. He was using stereotypes being rude to scousers, that's for sure. He's excused for that, although it's the fans from the other club in the city who I dislike.

I guess what few papers the Sun sells on Merseyside will go begging. Arrogance, thy name is Kelvin MacKenzie, who doesn't know when to shut up.

I'm what many of you would call a wishy washy lefty liberal, but the thing that annoyed me here wasnt the article (it was puerile and unfunny but that's the sun all over); it's the Liverpool mayor saying it was a racial stereotype of the people of Liverpool.the people of Liverpool are not a race and this sort of pathetic victim response hampers the arguments of those who are getting genuine racist abuse.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Anderson (The mayor or Liverpool) said: "Not only is it racist in a sense that he is of mixed-race descent, equally it's a racial stereotype of Liverpool. It is racist and prehistoric." And in a further tweet, he said that "ignorance simply cannot be used as a defence" and that apology is "simply not enough". Don't the mayor of Liverpool's contradictory statements make him as thick as pig s*** too? How can he accuse someone of a race hatred crime if he was unaware that he was of mixed race in the first place. The article may be many things but surely it can't be construed in a racist way.

If I'm reading the Liverpool mayor's quote/tweet correctly, he is referring to the quote saying those who earn the same money as Barkley are "drug dealers." MacKenzie has form here as he has been quoted several times saying rather hateful things about not only Scousers but also Scots and Geordies. He has also been quoted using racist language towards Blacks. See his entry in Wikipedia: He has also claimed that he doesn't lie. Really. He once was a Charlton supporter but now he's QPR. Kelvin MacKenzie is a c***. I know nothing about the Mayor of Liverpool but he doesn't come out of this very well, detracting from the fact that Kelvin MacKenzie is a c***. I believe that not only did MacKenzie become a QPR fan following Charlton's relegation but he then dumped them (presumably much to their relief) when they too were relegated making Kelvin MacKenzie a complete and utter c***. I don't like the bloke.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

With his history with the city of Liverpool you'd have thought he'd keep his opinions to himself. Has p*ssed me off no end. Means I need to light a candle tonight. The missus is going to think it means sex.

The Sun now banned from Everton. Would have thought they would have done it a lot sooner. As for McKenzie, given his previous I am not sure pleading ignorance is much of a defence.

Yes he is an odious s*** that's for sure. How people like him attract the caring human species is a mystery. And how he's invited onto tv as well. I suppose Sky and ITV excuse his prejudices. The thing about this is that if Frankie Boyle said what Kelvin Mack said, many would be laughing. Not only with regard to the scousers earning methods but also Ross Barclay looking like a gorilla. How many times has Wayne Rooney been referred to as a Gorilla? Did most of us know Barclay was mixed race? No. Yes I know Kelvin writes for a national newspaper, and Boyle and we do not, but i bet there's people being sanctimonious over this, and some who often point the finger at those who are offended on behalf of others. Yes he is a little turd who writes for a national read by the easily led and influenced, but just saying.

Boyle made jokes that were in bad taste this was in a national newspaper and he should be sacked. As for RB he did nothing wrong and was the victim of a cowardly attack.
