Simple way to put it he communicates with all the different departments of the club. only the people in the club will know his full duties the job various at each club some will have the full say in transfers in and out others will be focused on running of the club like hiring staff or organising the departments.

We sign 3 players nobody has heard of and don’t know how they will perform. So they all moan as we haven’t signed big money names, they could be the next Mahrez nobody knows. I could tell you Mahrez or Sanchez are worth buying. Let's face it, Luka was unheard of when we signed him and he's probably been our best signing in recent history. I'm not saying the three new boys will all be great, but let's at least wait and see. Stranger, for me, was West Ham swapping what looks like an average Championship striker for Ayew, and selling him to a relegation rival no less. Time will tell.

Problem is we have immediate gaps in the squad which that strategy alone won't address. It will take a couple of seasons to start bearing fruit, but it is something we must do because we can't spend £40m on every player we need.

Nothing against them and I wish them every success but I highly doubt this was our plan all along, more like plan F
