Do you agree with gambling advertisement being the face of English football? Yes? No? Couldn't care less? I am a postgraduate masters student currently conducting a Masters dissertation in an area I would love to know more about. As most of you will be well aware by now the promotion of European and Non-European gambling organisations are everywhere. Weather its on the kits, perimeter boards or on T.V you can not escape it. Therefore, I want to hear the from the core of English football fans and assess your thought process around this matter. It would be vastly appreciated if you could spare five minutes to conduct the survey on the link attached below. Your time is much appreciated and goes a long way in helping me complete my research commitments. Please try and make it to the end!

Not a big fan of it but it is a big part of what is sustaining the rapid rise in transfer fees etc.

Yes I agree. It's a tough one it does bring a substantial amount of income into the clubs revenue stream. However, this can be damaging influence to certain individuals.

TV money is a big part of a clubs income in the Premier and the gambling community, especially in Asia want to see the games and that fuels it.

Do you think that children's football shirts should have the betting sponsors on?

Couldn't care less. It's a legal business. The kids want their shirts to look the same as the player's kit. They don't care what the logo is advertising and it won't make a 10 year old fancy a flutter anymore than it would make them want Yokohama tyres on their toy car.

97% of gamblers lose and all gambling advertising should be banned. If all clubs lost the revenue there’d be very little edge lost apart from competing with Europe on the pitch and transfers that all English clubs will, like I say, suffer anyway. I’m a profitable gambler btw but find this industry very distasteful and appreciate fewer losers may hurt my profits. I particularly dislike restricting horse winners or just higher odds or early price taking value bettors but promoting casino and football betting. There’s a reason they promote football and casino and it’s not in punters’ interests.

Personally was very dissapointed when Palace ‘sold out’ to our now Chinese sponsors. Sure I am in a small minority but feel that gambling, as promoted and so readilyavailable, these days is not too far behind drugs and alcoholism as a social problem.

The advertising, even if not aimed at children is seen by children and increases brand awareness and `normalizes` gambling (You can debate how right or wrong that is). Look at the tobacco industry and it's influence in sports in the past and how advertising and even branding on packets has been heavily censored for exactly this reason.
