It seems more likely that if you say anything slightly offensive or have a different opinion the police will come after you But if you decide to post un ruly law breaking stuff the police won't do a thing. [Link]

This thread appears just as there is breaking news of a police officer killed whilst investigating a burglary in Berkshire with TEN arrested on suspicion of his murder: [Link] Here was a police officer evidently doing SOMETHING and getting killed for it. Many other police officers likewise put their lives on the line everyday in the pursuit of protecting law and order. Reality is that they have been underfunded for far too long , under-resourced and criminals typically serving not-fit-for-purpose sentences only for far too many to hit the streets again and reoffend. Crime does pay in this country right now.

Here was a police officer evidently doing SOMETHING and getting killed for it. Many other police officers likewise put their lives on the line everyday in the pursuit of protecting law and order.

Reality is that they have been underfunded for far too long , under-resourced and criminals typically serving not-fit-for-purpose sentences only for far too many to hit the streets again and reoffend. Crime does pay in this country right now.

Disgraceful. And I agree with your comments on the police and justice system. At least Boris recognises the problem. Whether he does anything about it is another matter.

Underfunding is not the issue if it is at all underfunded. I've posted before that over 50% of police time is taken up with repeat offenders. Lock them up and they cant re offend. Then you will see we have enough plods. Go into the canteen in lambeth police HQ at any given time. You will see uniforms galore. First hand. I've not needed the police and probably 90% on here havent either for at least 2 or 3 years. They always turned up when my foot was down too much or I was on the phone though. Rightly I might add but was definitely not underfunded then.

Earlier this week a mate of mine had his car hit by a Romanian driver who had only been here two days and who had no insurance. The driver wanted to use another ref (which was of an insured car) but my mate wasn’t having it and called the police. Apparently the police didn’t give a s*** that the guy had no insurance and just gave him a crime reference number. The driver wanted to use another ref (which was of an insured car) but my mate wasn’t having it and called the police.

Apparently the police didn’t give a s*** that the guy had no insurance and just gave him a crime reference number.

You couldn't make it up. It's across the board really. We had a break-in, and there was a 'what do you expect us to do about it' tone, that makes you think you're better off installing CCTV and having a couple of golf clubs under your bed.

I think if you are a stand up fella, house, job etc then they are happy to nick you, but if you are more transient, then they don’t bother as they don’t think it’s worth the time and energy involved.

So basically if you play by the rules then you are a target but if live on the edge of society you get away with stuff.

It’s like when the pickeys turn up with 20 caravans and set up camp in the local park for a month. Imagine if you or I put the wife and kids in a caravan and parked it in the middle of a football pitch. We’d be nicked within the hour!
