Beating arsenal 2-0, this sucks. Why? Because i fancied them to win, and would have had a bet had i remembered, and imagine they were a long shot! Also, they are one of our relegation rivals, so always want them to drop points, and , they have pulled off the suprise shock result of the weekend. I imagine the Russians manager will use this against us tomorrow!

Thoroughly deserved their win too. Arsenal weren't even a close second.

Well done the bees -although like i said, always want any relegation rivals to drop points, as much as I dont mind Brentford one bit.Bet they were 4-1 or near, i did fancy them in with a chance, new ground and first day nerves for the gooners etc, tut tut. On the plus side i would only have had £500 on them.........errrrr....I mean £5.

We can always depend on arsenal to play like dummies against all our relegation rivals .....only to arrive at selhurst with all the hunger & verve of champions league finalists.

It seems £50m acquisition Ben White was crap.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

A great win and thoroughly deserved. Arsenal looked devoid of ideas at times. A big fan of Thomas Frank, got excited when he was mentioned for us, but was never going to happen. Not this year anyway.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Which shows how low the Arse has sunk. And they wanted to be part of the European Super League!

Well done to the Bees. Such a shame for a founding member of the breakaway European league to lose without putting up a whimper. They were fortunate to get 0 last night. I am a fan of White but not at £50m. The Arse do have the habit of overpaying, should have bought Wilf, hehehe. They lack a leader. I just hope we are a little more settled when we play the bees next week.

I am brassed off because next week Brentford will arrive at Selhurst park full of confidence after last nights result & I can see Palace vs Huddersfield on opening day happening all over again - Additionally - reading the match report apparently Brentford have a long throw in guy - great that means they will get at least 1 goal if not 2 out of that move. Wow - I am a little ray of sunshine this morning, lol

Wow - I am a little ray of sunshine this morning, lol The guy with the long throw is a centre back who came on as a late sub due to an injury to Ajer. I doubt he'll be starting against us. Although Brentford look a decent, competant team I'd like to think we won't be as naive as Arsenal and that Zaha and Benteke won't throw a sickie hours before the game like their strikers! I can see Benteke getting some joy in the air, Schluppy running through them as Smith-Rowe did and they also looked vulnerable down the channels if we can get Mitchell and Ward forward. Just gotta make sure we don't over pass it around at the back like Arsenal did which Brentford's high press caught them out couple of times. How did Arsenal not learn to put someone on half way line when defending corners to relieve pressure?! Ben White was so poor it was funny! Just a shame the Weed got that much for him!
