If the Worker's Party get their act together before the London Mayoral election we may have a chance to dethrone Khan.

Can but hope

Don't think they have anyone standing so unlikely to be an issue, Anyway from what I see the party is Gorgeous George on his own.

Not sure what this vote means as from all the rhetoric his only policy seems to be a pro Palestine stance.

Are you crossing your fingers for a Worker's Party victory?

Every now and then we have a by election that becomes an oddity and I think this one fits.

I expect that in 6 months George will lose his seat to a Labour candidate.

60% didn't vote for Galloway. The Mayoral election has transfers which will go in Khan's favour.

I am hoping if they stood a candidate they would eat into Khan's base enough to oust Khan.

Galloway is a remarkable politician and would be a significant campaigning asset to a candidate even if he threw his support behind an independent.

He has been consistent in his views which is rare these days. I agree with him on some issues, Iraq War, Brexit to name two.

I wonder whether Galloway will bother to turn up in parliament this time, his attendance before was among the lowest ever. No surprise really, communist agitators have little time for democracy, similarly, apologists for Islamic terrorism.

He won at a canter.

The 60% is skewed by the 20% who voted for Mr Tully.

Only 30% of the vote went to Labour and Conservative.

I am pleased to see the duopoly of the two main parties being challenged.

Seems the election Act 2022 changed the supplementary vote system but not sure how, can anyone explain?

Seems to have changed to first past the post.

Last election was 55/45 to Labour

The actual votes were @ 1,000,000 Labour and 900,000 Conservative so it would only need 50,000 reduction in Labour vote to put them neck and neck.

Also seems Galloway is on the list as a candidate so has time to change the candidate.

Tower Hamlets gave Khan 40K votes last time

He will revel in making a maiden speech
