It's a no from me.

Our players look happier without him. And thoughts of him on the ground after loosing the ball and rolling his socks up while moaning at everyone one else again.

Pretty sure Ollie would sort him out

I think there's a little more to it than "can't meet his wages"
If his wages are a problem then why did they sign him?

If he comes back he'd suit one of the newly promoted sides however they all look much better than last year's three.

Im afraid its a no from me.
Time has moved on and we have a good settled (and dare I say happy) squad now and I think Wilf would unsettle the players who now see themselves as settled new guys.
Even on low wages Id still say no.
Time to build for the future.

If the story has any credence, it looks like a Saudi deal to me.
I wouldn't have him back on such ridiculous money, but a one or two year deal on sensible wages would be ok, but unlikely to happen.
Makes you wonder if we offered 4 years last year, why not offer 3 now - well I know the answer to that, but football is a crazy world.

Exactly this......Wilf has gone, he was great while he was here but that was in the past....just keep the good memories, not watching him deteriorate as he ages.....hes already lost pace....so its a no from me!!!

He's not on 300k a week there. He's on £72k.

I'd take anyone who would improve our squad and he would.

We play a fast pressing game Wilf had admitted in interviews that these days he conserves his energy I just don't see where he would fit into the team slowing down our attack.

He was top dog at palace and rightly so but time has moved on he has a big ego so I can't see him happy to play understudy with a 20 minute cameo at the end of games.

Thanks for the memories Wilf you are the GOAT but it's like meeting your first love after 20 years, you're both going to be disappointed.

Did he not have a signing on fee? If so, isn't such a fee included with his wages over the life of the contract? - in which case he may well be on significantly more than £72k a week.

As to him coming back - it's a question as to whether or not he'd be willing to be an impact sub because he shouldn't be a starter given his inability these days to press high for most of the game. In any event, who would he replace if he were to start? Not Eze and not Kamada IMO and, if his transfer falls through, not Olise, obviously.

I think Munoz could deal with him

We all know from experience Wilf doesn’t react well to someone who would keep snapping away at him, one little nibble at his ankles early on, he’d wave his arms around, have a moan at the ref and then go missing the rest of the game

Love Wilf, but this was obviously his worse side and you’re right, Munoz would be just the player to bring it out of him

Having said that though, if we sell both Eze and Olise, I’d have Wilf back here, even though it feels like, been there done that, shouldn’t really be going backwards
