Have you noticed hotels are going to the dogs? Many seem to have lost there customer care Staff seem unhappy, and housekeeping are not servicing rooms Sometimes till very late in the afternoon, or trying to use the old save the environment time and reuse your towels and sheet to help save the planet.

Indeed I pass that one on my way to work and looks truly drab.
Most of my colleagues who travel down to Croydon stay in the Leonardo (formerly Jury's Inn) which is a tad better...

It depends on length of stay but if it is 2/3 nights I actually don't want house keeping. They are always moving my stuff around. Quite happy to use one towel and make my own bed. Recently stayed in a hotel left the Do Not Disturb sign outside whilst I had a shower, when the knocking started. I assumed it was another family member and rushed out sopping wet only to be greeted by the house keeper, just checking that I didn't want to be disturbed. One more point

Holiday inn express last week had a sign about towels in a pile are washed but it damages the environment etc. used every one so feck the dolphins

In a Travelodge this w/e in N'ton at the GP. Normal price for 3 night stay, £196.00. Price just for l/n £268.00 that's just for one Saturday night in a travelodge. That's what the British GP does. This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

I book premier inns in epsom and sutton usually 35 pound a night when I book well in advance. Also handy I can change the dates for free if a fixture gets changed. They do the job.

My dear wife and I will be experiencing the delights of the 'Balmoral' hotel in Edinburgh for 4 nights and I very much expect that the splendour and overall experience justifies the price of our stay.

Noticing a lot of security deposits being charge especially in malaysia most of asia, I always pay cash and make sure I check out with at least and hour to spare, because they make you hang around thinking you are in a rush and got a plane to catch and will just leave it for them.I have heard some people waiting weeks after there stay and having to contact the hotel to get there card payment refunded if they pay it on card,I don't want to see Hotels see it as a money making scam knowing your not likely to return when your an overseas visitor, if you leave a negative review they just respond to save there reputation saying sorry you have not received your deposit please contact your bank the're must be an issue your end.

That’s the exact reason we stay at the heath inn in Leighton Buzzard for the GP weekend, it’s a bit of a drive into the track each day, but as you say the prices closer are horrendous. Didn’t go this year, what a great result though

That’s the exact reason we stay at the heath inn in Leighton Buzzard for the GP weekend, it’s a bit of a drive into the track each day, but as you say the prices closer are horrendous.

if you visit Belfast, The Merchant hotel is a must. bit pricey but superb building (ex bank) restuarants, jazz bar, cocktail bars. Stayed at the grand in brighton a few times recently, quite nice but a bit shaby in areas.(bathrooms) However nice bar & cracking self self breakfast. Comfort Inn ,Arundel, a few years ago was bloody awful. Kids,tired of being bothered by your pesky parents? Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.

I liked Edinburgh if you've not been buy a hop on hop off pass. Excellent value for money the one I bought also included a visit to the Castle and the Royal Britannia. Museums and the botanical garden are well worth it. [Link] One more point
