I can't wait for a couple of players to come out, then we can stop banging on about it. The sexuality, religious belief, personal hygiene habits, and dietary requirements of players doesn't matter a toss to me so long as they can play football. Our players will still be supported by our fans if they come out, players for other teams will still receive dogs abuse from our fans whether they come out or not. I remember (in no particular order) just get it over and done with already! As Lisa Simpson said when watching a Pride march with people shouting "we're here, we're queer, get used to it": You're here every year, we ARE used to it

As for this campaign - anything that raises equality is obviously laudable - although I am struggling to understand where this 'prejudice' and homophobia actually lies on the terraces I would suggest the problem lies more within clubs, players and the meejia... Graeme Le Saux wrote a good piece about his experiences, especially with Scouse Cocaine king Robbie Fowler Campaign director Lou Englefield added: "This isn't just about players coming out. It's about all of us - including heterosexual players and fans who attend matches week in week out - being willing to speak out and take visible action to challenge prejudice in the game." Challenge what prejudice ?????? I remember a young John Barnes being pelted with bananas at Everton - I have yet to see a footballer coming under fire from a hail of dildo's when he is trying to take a corner
I don't know Dildo, is he big in bananas?
As for gay footballers I had no idea there was a civil partnership in the England camp... Matt takes Graeme over the threshold

When some really believe anti-homphobes are in the minority it's easy to understand why people resort to such offensive remarks. Once they (eventually) realise it is a majority who are not just non-gay but actually support the rights and sensibilties of the gay community, then this whole ridiculous issue will die off. If puntuation-challenged posters cannot see how their shortcoming makes a mockery of their post, then it must be equally difficult for them to take on an even more challenging concept as homosexuallity.

Im not being funny why are gays getting all of this love and special treatment. Legalising Gay marriage, people in general accepting fruits exist, There taking the piss now they want even more lime light by getting into all this football lark. I don't understand the claim that this campaign is pandering to gay people or players, or sees them 'getting things done for them' at all.

The suffix 'phobia' implies fear or hatred. What people are objecting to is piss-taking, which is neither. Blame lies with US Journalism, who coined the phrase following the Stonewall riots, and its just stuck since. More correctly its discrimination. Although the key part of any phobia is that its an irrational fear or hatred. And a lot of anti-gay prejudice is irrational. In fact arguably most hetrosexual men should be anything but afraid or in fear of gay men, as they're non-competative. The term has some roots as well in the idea that prejudice is born from an irrational fear or dislike within the individual, particually in this case of ones own sexual orientation.

Usually with a paint aerosol, I'd assume, sharpie doesn't quite fit the scale.
