Where was the intensity and urgency in our play? You're right that the players looked scared and passive. I think Woy wanted them to play a patient, possession game but they don't play that way for their clubs so we need to go back to basics, Redknapp's sides are blood and thunder, a way English players know how to play - at frenetic pace. Right. The Spanish way, which a few years ago was hailed as the only way to go. But we should follow the German model, which is much more direct and much more suited to our psyche.

The answer to both is "an Australian" But it's not a big deal in those sports, it's generally accepted but not in Football, it's an ignominy for a big nation to have to go foreign. Did Sven and / or Capello turn around our fortunes for the football team? A big resounding NO !! England's problems are not the manager so getting a foreign boss does not solve the problem

No, we should play our own way, the British way not copy others. If you take English players from Spurs, Man U, Liverpool etc who play a certain way for their clubs and ask them to play a completely different way they will struggle. You should bring your own brand and identity to a tournament and represent YOUR game. The Italians play an Italian way the way they do in Serie A, The Spanish the Spain way like they do in La Liga, Germans a German way like they do in the Bundesliga. England should play an English way like it is in the Premiership and with an English manager

Arsène Wenger would be ideal. He wouldn't actually win anything but he could get close to it which is more than we have had for quite some time.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

We're maybe Stoke City, or West Brom with managers who typically have done well in English football with small clubs. Which is a problem when we play internationals. And the players tend to think they're superstars.

Vardy isn't Leicester's best player? they're champs aren't they? 2 top scorers in the prem, both English. Player of the season as well.

I think the players aren't very intelligent on the field or off it. How many are targeted by clubs abroad? That's partly due to money but it's also, and always has been, because they cannot adapt to different styles and different players. Our's are used to being slotted into a system at their clubs with top class talent cherry picked from around the globe. Ask them to adapt and think and they're lost. Was Lampard any good away from Chelsea? No. Look at the other top nations. Can play at foreign clubs, join up with national sides and do what's asked. I was reluctant to get too interested in England but they pulled me in and p1ssed me off again. I'll never go to a tournament now. Too many muppets there as well.

Southgate has just said he doesn't want it. Situation must be really bad if he's turning it down!
